Värriön luontopäiväkirja - Varrio nature diary

Värriön Smear-aseman kasvukauden 2008 fotosynteesin mittaus käynnistyy tänä vuonna toukokuun alussa. Maassa on vielä lähes puoli metriä lunta, mutta Kotovaaran männyt yhteyttävät jo.

Yhteyttämistä mittaavia kyvettejä asennetaan neljä kappaletta, joista yksi on Smear-tornin kyljessä. Vasemmassa kuvassa kyvettiä tarkastelevat Smear-tutkija Janne Levula (vas.) ja professori Pertti Hari.

Oikeassa kuvassa näkyy Värriö ykkösen vielä luminen laki Kotovaaran männikön takaa.

Year 2008 photosynthesis measurements of the Smear -station of Varrio are initiated in the beginning of May. There is still almost half a meter snow in the forest, but the trees already assimilate, especially in sunny weather.

Altogether four measurements chambers, cuvettes, are installed in the tops of the trees. One of the cuvettes is near to the Smear tower.
