Värriön luontopäiväkirja - Varrio nature diary

Vaikka etelämpänä Suomessa ja Lapissakin ensimmäiset lumet ovat suojasäiden myötä lähes huvenneet, Värriötunturin korkeilla vedenjakajaseuduilla talvi tulee tasaista tahtiaan. Värriön ilmastoaseman mittakepissä lumen korkeus on nyt 22 cm. Kuva Kotovaarasta itään.

Although the first snows in most of Finland have melted with the warm southwestern spell the winter is coming at steady rate into highlands of Varrio fells. The Varrio climate station snow height is now 22 cm. The photo shows old Scots pine forest east of Kotovaara hill.
