Suon pienimpiä - Tiny flowers on peat bogs

Suohorsma on verraten yleinen Pohjolan kasvi, suoniittyjen aikaan vielä nykyistä yleisempi.
In the moist peatlands with moving waters and in swampy creeks flowing down from the Varrio fells you may find in July-August a small, fragile looking plant with tiny purple or white flowers. It is Marsh willow herb (Ebilobium palustre). It may be hard to reckon that this is a small cousin of Rosebay willow herb (Ebilobium angustifolium), the tall and showy pink late summer flower all over Finland.
Marsh willow herb is quite common plant in Nordic countries, in suitable moist environments.
