Lisää kapustarintoja - More Golden plovers

Tunturilaen yleisääni on edelleen, kiivaimpana lintujen kevätaikanakin: hiljaisuus.

Today I found more Golden plovers: 3 birds on Varrio peak I, and another 3 birds on Varrio peak II. Golden plovers are easily found if you just follow the gentle call. The birds are relatively tame, and they let you come with your camera to a distance of less than 10 meters. The other fell top birds today were Common kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) which flew over Varrio one to the north, singing Meadow pipit (Anthus pratensis) on Varrio two, a pair of Northern wheatears (Oenanthe oenanthe) both on Varrio one and Varrio two, and a few Common redpolls (Carduelis flammea) that were just flying over the fell. Also during the hottest spring season the dominant sound on the fell tops is - the silence.
