Tästä tykkypuusta otetusta kuvasta näkyy, että lakipuiden huurre ja siitä kertyvä tykky ei ole lunta. Alijäähtynyt vesi tiivistyy tuntureiden laella jääkiteiksi, joista tykky syntyy. Suksisauvan pää antaa mittakaavan.

This photo shows that the heavy burden in the hill and fell top trees is not made of ordinary snow. Supercool water in the clouds condenses into crystals which deposit on the branches of the trees. The handles of the skiing stick gives the scale.
