Aurinko voi näkyä Värriön luonnonpuistossa viimeisen kerran noin 4. joulukuuta, niinä harvoina päivinä kun taivas on pilvetön. Sen jälkeen alkaa varsinainen kaamos. Kirkkaina päivinä auringosta näkyy vain kuparin värinen heijastus pohjoispuolen taivaalla.

The sun can be seen in Varrio nature reserve for the last time around 4 December - on the few days when the sky is cloudless. After that day the true mid-winter, "kaamos" in Finnish vocabularly, starts. On clear days the reflection of the sun can only be seen as copper color above the fells in the northern sky.
